Use this to sync with a partner and build a new partnership. Generally takes 2 to 8 practices to get through everything. Start with dancing, alternate 15 - 30 minute intervals of the progression and 5 to 10 minutes of dancing. End practice with dancing.

Part 1

  1. balboa basic - up in The Six Directions of Movement. The sideways one is tricky but very important to avoid true auto pilot.
  2. 1/2 basic and out and in. Do the out and in on the right and the left and in the The Six Directions of Movement|six directions
  3. out and in six directions

Part 2

  1. come around, check lilt for powering the rotational motion
  2. starter step to the left
  3. compare contrast rotating up basic with come around

Part 3

  1. Down basic 6 directions
  2. crab walks
  3. paddles

Part 4

  1. toss out come around - this one often takes forever because it is often focused. Relax, take time to establish what you both want and be able to lead and follow it.
  2. grape vine to turn

Part 5

  1. reverse toss out
  2. swivels
  3. multi turns

Part 6

  1. send out 5 versions
  2. follower lolly variations
  3. swivels as up / down basic

Part 7

  • anything that feels funky that comes up in dancing
  • i.e. freezes, cross overs, grape vines, pop turn from lollies, elbow catches

Part 8

  • develop move set as a partnership
